Aerobic

In wastewater transport and treatment aerobic means that oxygen is available and that it can be used as an oxidation agent in the degradation of organic matter.

Under aerobic conditions oxygen (O2) is present. This is in contrast to anaerobic where no oxygen is present. In wastewater transport and treatment aerobic means that O2 is available and that it can be used as an oxidation agent in the degradation of organic matter. Products of this process are CO2 and H2O.
