Glycol in motors of submersibles

In order to protect against frost damage during transport and storage, SP pumps are protected by a water/glycol mixture. Although glycol is not toxic, after the elimination of water hazard class ‘0’ (WHC 0 = not hazardous to water), this substance was shifted into water hazard class ‘1’ (WGK 1 = slightly hazardous to water). Although a minimum limit of 200l/kg applies to the above-mentioned group, some district-level water authorities have separate regulations requiring the motor fluid to be completely glycol-free. Before installing the pump, please contact the competent district-level water authority

in this regard. It is a simple matter to drain the motor fluid on location and replace it with normal tap water (see operating instructions).
