What's new in WinCAPS 7.44 "GMA 07-2003" (Built version 7.44.28)
- A total redesign of "Groundwater supply" sizing where the goal has been twofold:
- Creating the most user friendly pump sizing tool in the industry
- Including new features enabling the user to compare pumps in an easy and less time consuming way by means of Life Cycle Cost calculations, see the chapter "New Groundwater supply sizing"
- A list of new products is added and product data are updated, see details below
- Service parts, Parts list and Service instructions are added and updated, see details below
New and revised software in WinCAPS 7.44:
The main changes of functionality:
- General:
- Frequency is removed from All data and Quotation text when not relevant e.g. for mechanical accessories
- A note has been added to product pictures: "Note! Product picture may differ from actual product". The reason for this is to avoid confusing the users since the shown pictures are product family pictures
- Motor curves have got their own tab next to Curve. So far WinCAPS only includes curves for submersible motors
- User defined units: Megalitre/day has been added as an option
- Antifreeze media:
Renaming of Ethylene Glycol (non-inhibited) to Ethylene Glycol
Propylene Glycol (non-inhibited) to Propylene Glycol
Removing of Ethylene Glycol (inhibited) and Ethylene Glycol (inhibited)
- Curve settings:
- The user-selected settings of P1, P2, NPSH and eta will be stored when closing WinCAPS
- All other user-selected settings - e.g. duty point, viscosity and density - will be reset when WinCAPS is closed
- Many new functions have been added to support SP, SQ and BM pumps and "Groundwater supply" sizing (see chapter "New Groundwater supply sizing").
When we have got some experience of these functions, they might be added to other pump types and applications as well. For this version these functions are dimmed except for SP, SQ and BM pumps.
- Sizing:
- · Pressure Boosting, Single- or multi-pump systems: It is now possible to size BM pumps by selecting: "Installation type" = "Enclosed pumps - inlet pressure"
- · Renewable energy systems: Sizing of the new FS-50-D and SX-110 Solar modules incl. handling of belonging accessories
- Many minor changes and corrections
New products and product changes in WinCAPS 7.44:

- TP High head, phase 1 - Japan
- TPED Series 2000, single phase
- TPE(D) single phase update

- TP High head, phase 1 - Japan - Service parts, parts list and Service instructions
- CR 30 & 60 - Service instruction
- SP (125, 160 and 210) - Service parts and parts list
- That means Service parts and Parts list are now included for all submersible pumps SP-A, SP and SP-G
- For more information about service see in the notesdatabase WinCAPS forum, under General information & News - titel "Products with service information".
New "Goundwater supply" sizing
This version includes a total redesign of "Groundwater supply" sizing. The goal has been twofold:
1) creating the most user friendly pump sizing tool in the industry
2) including new features enabling the user to compare pumps in an easy and less time consuming way by means of Life Cycle Cost calculations.
The LCC calculation also includes an optimization feature. This feature enables the user to see the effect of changing parameters in the pumping system (size of cables and pipes plus the operating hours). This is in agreement with the Cost Of Ownership thinking, where the focus is on the total pumping system and not only on the pump itself.
The user friendly design has been obtained by
- using more graphics than ever
- making the graphics active - inputs are shown on the illustrations
- restructuring the questions for sizing in a more user friendly way
A new user guide explaning the Groundwater supply sizing part of WinCAPS is beeing prepared. The SuperUsers will receive a copy of the guide in the middle of August.
Below, you will find examples of how to use the new "Groundwater supply" sizing.
Click the links to see the next step of the example.
> A direct comparison of pumps, as regards to energy cost and Life Cycle Costs (LCC)
> Possibility to show the LCC effect of changing cables, pipes or operating hours.
> Comparison of pumps by showing more performance curves in the same curve sheet
> A print-out with a summary of all relevant information
> Possibility to set your own default start-up settings
> Easy access to MS/MMS motor performance curves
