Grundfos Assistance for Tsunami Victims

Tsunami VictiomsEveryone at Grundfos expresses our sympathy for the victims of the tsunami in Asia, and, due to the terrible extent of the disaster, Grundfos Group Management in Denmark decided to donate a considerable amount of money.

Grundfos is donating nearly a million dollars for assistance in the affected region. The major part of the amount will be used for the reestablishment of water supply and the purchase of water purification units, helping to ensure the people in the areas affected by the disaster can procure clean water. This part of the assistance will be given in cooperation with the UN and Grundfos customers who supply water purification equipment.

A portion of the money will be donated to the Danish Red Cross relief work in the region. In addition, money will be earmarked for helping local staff, customers and suppliers affected by the disaster.

In addition all Grundfos companies worldwide will launch an appeal for the tsunami victims, each company deciding how best to offer assistance.

"We are witnessing the biggest natural disaster of our times, and so it is natural for Grundfos, being a responsible company with global presence, to offer assistance in a way that ensures the local people affected by the flood will get the best possible help," said Grundfos Group President Jens Jørgen Madsen.

Grundfos facilities in North America include Sales and Marketing for the U.S. in Kansas City; Service in Allentown, PA; and Manufacturing in Fresno, CA.
