Grundfos MAGNA and VersaFlo® Circulators Recognized for Innovation

Two Grundfos large circulators will be honored at the AHR Expo sponsored by ASHRAE and ARI in New York City in January.

Grundfos received 2008 Innovation Award Honorable Mention in both the Green Building and Heating Categories. A panel of seven judges, appointed for their knowledge and experience in the Industry, awarded the recognition to MAGNA and VersaFlo. The Innovation Award competition results will be published at the Show, on the AHR Expo website and in a number of industry publications. All entry fees from the Awards will be given to support a scholarship to a local HVAC&R program in the New York area.

Grundfos MAGNA circulators won the honor in the Green Building category. MAGNA is an amazingly adaptable speed-controlled circulator built around a permanent magnet rotor design combined with wet-rotor technology. An intelligent regulation function keeps the pump operating at peak efficiency by carrying out regular proportional pressure adjustments and resetting the pump's operating profile to the most efficient performance curve whenever possible. In effect, MAGNA "learns" what works best for the system and changes its settings accordingly. With rising energy prices and increasingly greater value placed on "green" building products, MAGNA is expected to dominate the "smart" circulator market.

VersaFlo UP(S) wet rotor circulators were honored in the Heating category. These circulators have no potentially noisy fan -- they are cooled and lubricated by the water they pump. Oil-less and seal-less, VersaFlo is virtually maintenance-free. Mechanical contractors prefer VersaFlo for its three-speed option and ease of installation. VersaFlo is designed to replace other manufacturer's dry runners without piping modifications.

More information about MAGNA and VersaFlo® is available at www.grundfos.com/magna or www.versaflo.com.

"We know these are innovative and reliable products," said Zeki Oral, Grundfos CBS product manager. "We appreciate the recognition and would like to express our thanks to the seven panelists who voted and to ASHRAE for sponsoring this."
