REPORTING STRUCTURE:

  • Direct reporting line to: Regional Sales Manager– DBS
  • Area of responsibility: East and West Midlands

 

Generic responsibilities:

  • The principal function of the role is to secure profitable business for Grundfos Pumps Ltd, in order to achieve or ideally exceed defined sales targets, within the cost budget.
  • Secure specification and incremental sales across the complete Grundfos product portfolio by gaining sole / fixed specification.
  • Play a key role in the DBS Business unit, having specific commercial and technical knowledge to support the business and market needs in this sector.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and quickly resolve customer queries
  • Have the skills to negotiate orders either direct, via a contractor base or via local distribution channels, to support our multi-channel route to market
  • Record all activities relating to the Customer Relationship Management in line with company procedure using our CRM package
  • Execution of marketing and sales strategies using specific and focussed promotional campaigns and incentives
  • Monitor product sales, customer sales reports and other KPI’s to ensure we are on track to deliver our targets, and take corrective actions as required in a timely manner
  • Identification and development of new business opportunities
  • Be a competent presenter, having the ability to construct and deliver PowerPoint presentations to support our sales efforts.
  • Management and maintenance of pricing support mechanisms used across the business
  • To maintain customer relationship, out of hours work / entertaining / travel is anticipated

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Primary focus working with key contractors, social housing & end user / client
  • 70% client / specification focused & 30% supply chain / merchant activities
  •  Achieve high volume of sales activities and hit monthly / specific sales targets
  • Effective planning and reporting in line with company policy
  • Understand the markets we sell into, and work with our merchant partners at the appropriate level to maximise sales. (Limited Branch activities)
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and quickly resolve customer queries
  • Develop and implement local action plan in line with our business strategy
  • Co-ordinate activities with Sales Promotors as required
  • Together with the National Domestic OEM Manager, identify and develop OEM business opportunities at a local level
  • Engage in suitable project work as required to the benefit of Grundfos

 

Mandatory Grundfos duties & responsibilities:

  • Participate in ad hoc tasks as defined by your line manager and/or functional manager
  •  Be an ambassador of the Grundfos Values
  • Follow the guidelines and standards in the Grundfos Code of Conduct
  • To carry out all duties and responsibilities with reasonable care for the health and safety of you and any other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work and to co-operate fully with Grundfos in health and safety matters

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Liaise with internal and external sales colleagues at all levels and functions
  • Liaise with members of the GB Management Team
  • Build a strong customer relationship to ensure Grundfos are given every opportunity to ensure we maximise sales

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to a suitable level & ideally with a proven sales track record
  • Technical Knowledge of the business area
  • Competent IT skills including ideally knowledge of SAP CRM / BW

  • The ability to work in a demanding and ever changing environment where meeting time deadlines are a key element of the role
