If yes, you will as the Area Segment Manager Industry East Asia be responsible for the profitable growth of sales turnover in the Industry distribution channel in conjunction with Area Management and in close cooperation with the Regional team.
It’s your responsibility to give clear direction, securing alignment and create commitment to Industry activities from our distribution sales staff is as it aligns with the organization’s overall ambition and its current and long-term business objectives of sales growth, increasing market share and sustained customer satisfaction.
Reporting line is to the Area Managing Director East Asia and functional reference to APREG Regional Business Director, Industry
Location is preferably Japan, however Korea or Taiwan could be considered.
As Area Segment Manager Industry East Asia, you will be expected to successfully:
•Prepare the area segment strategy (long term) and business plan (short term) in alignment with global segment and regional objectives and strategies
•Provide market input for strategic development projects, prepare go-to-market plans for new product launches and sign off plans on behalf of area
•Analyze customer needs and feedback and prepare development plans
•Monitor competitor activities and general market trends in area
•Participate in area sales activities, such as annual distributor meetings, exhibitions and special customer events
•Identify opportunities and improvements from a technical marketing perspective; Price list effectiveness in promoting range, stock, ease of use and depth and breadth of distribution and use.
•Improve communication and information sharing within East and to region; establishing an effective platform for collecting, creating and sharing case stories and best practices.
•Participate in roll-out of marketing campaigns, customer partner programs
•Ensure clear direction for area sales staff by keeping focus on agreed objectives, strategies and plans
•Ensure alignment across countries in area and sharing of best practices
•Establish a network of highly motivated and committed areas sales staff i.e. Industry Champions
•Provides short-term and long-term product sales forecasts based on Sales Planning in area
•Identified and consolidated training needs and connects to providers to ensure East maintains and strengthens current and future knowledge demands
What do you need to apply?
•Having either a business education (e.g. B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Business or Economics) or a technical education (e.g. B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering)
•Most likely to have 8-10 years international experience from a large sales organization preferable from a regional or global organization
•Experience with change management and how to achieve successful implementations in a sales organization
•High proficiency level in written and verbal communication in English is a prerequisite.
•Japanese or Korean language skills are an advantage
•Understand the full value chain elements and can balance short-term and long-term business objectives.
•Able to work collaboratively to drive progress and manage implementation to achieve measurable results
•strong commercial outlook, being able to interpret customer and market needs and opportunities into input and ideas for supply chain and product improvements and technical marketing initiatives.
•Able to manage partner relationships on an ongoing basis to assure mutual success and satisfaction
•Being result oriented and extrovert and possess a high level of communications skills in relation to all levels of contact, internally and externally.
•Experience in dealing with customers (mainly distributors and dealers) at senior level.
•Strong business acumen is required to analyze customer needs and understand how to differentiate and optimize our full offering (products, pricing, promotion, partnering, people).
•Strong interest in developing a distribution sales network
•Strong ability to understand, motivate and influence colleagues, customers and staff
•Strong insights in pump industry in East Asia within Industry
•Capable of working across countries, i.e. export experience
