As Application Manager in Water Utility you will take a leading role in the execution of our 2025 strategy. You will be part of Grundfos ambitious new standards for water and energy in the world and maintain Grundfos as a global leader and support the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDG) number 6 Clean Water & Sanitation, and number 13 Climate Action.
We are responsible for contributing to the global strategic ambition, developing offerings and leading business development initiatives to grow the Water Utility business. We are also commercial experts in new offering launches and support our sales companies.


Our team of Application Managers is responsible for keeping segment business development up to date with future application trends and customer needs in a global water utility perspective and supporting translating customer needs into new offering and making sure we in development of new solutions are fulfilling true customer needs.


What is the job about?
You will be responsible for leading and contributing to the implementation of digital water solutions and supporting regional application sales engineers and end users.
As part of your job, you will guide Segment Business Development process – or in other words be an integral part of translating customer needs into new solutions, offerings and leading business development initiatives to grow the Water Utility business. You will also play an integral part in bringing our new solutions to market, supporting our regions, conducting trainings and creating training material and participate in customer meetings with end users.


One of your key activities will be to build the capabilities we need to grow our digital water business. For our internal organization you will be responsible for establishing a strong global network of internal application experts with the purpose of strengthening our water utility customers and end-user insight globally ensuring Grundfos maintains leadership and market relevance in our portfolio of pumps and digital offerings but also raising application and solution knowledge among our sales force.

You will collaborate very closely with Sales and Service as well as Water Utility experts around the world, contributing to delivering on our strategy.

“As application manager you will play a key role, through your deep application knowledge, in securing we succeed with our digital transformation by supporting our sales force in launching digital solutions towards water utility customers.” explains Søren Skjalm-Rasmussen, Head of Water Networks. 

The position is preferably based at headquarters in Bjerringbro, Denmark.


What do you need to apply?
• Excellent communication skills on all levels and able to influence stakeholders across the organization – vertically as well as horizontally
• Experience in identifying, mobilizing and heading several projects simultaneously
• Strong relationship builder across different cultures and business areas inside and outside Grundfos
• Educated as an Engineer (water, mechanical, electrical, software) or similar
• 10+ years’ experience from the water industry, where you have obtained a solid understanding of both applications, organizations and regulatory environment
• It is a great advantage, if you have worked with digital water applications.
• Proficient in English - Danish is not a requirement
• Able to travel up to approx. 50 days per year
• A position of great importance
