Grundfos enters the market for mixers and flowmakers

The acquisition, which covers the whole of Arnold AG, is an extremely satisfying conclusion for both parties to the two companies’ recent discussions and plans for the future.

Arnold AG has achieved a solid position within the development and manufacture of submersible mixers and flowmakers, primarily for use within wastewater treatment.

This purchase is an important step for Grundfos, extending the group’s general capacity within wastewater treatment. The Grundfos group is currently one of the world’s leading producers of pumps and pump systems.

With the purchase of Arnold AG, Grundfos gains 23 years’ solid experience in the specific area of mixers. The group is thus in a position to extend what it can offer, with a new selection of wastewater solutions, covering a complete range of submersible mixers, flowmakers and recirculation pumps. This gives customers the option of full control over distribution and movement of liquids and solid materials in wastewater treatment, and thus achieving significant savings in costs for energy, maintenance and repairs.

A very positive development for Grundfos is that Edi Arnold has agreed to continue as managing director at Arnold AG for the next few years. His expertise will ensure continuity in the company and provide the Grundfos group with valuable skills.

Grundfos’ purchase of Arnold AG takes place immediately before the IFAT 2002 fair in Munich, which is to be held from 13 to 17 May. At the fair, Grundfos will present prototypes of a new recirculation pump constructed with Arnold’s expertise to Grundfos specifications.

Arnold AG has an annual turnover of around DKK 35 million and has 20 employees.

The takeover is conditional on the approval of the relevant monopoly authorities.
