Making an impact at a Danish state visit in Korea

We gave water a voice when a Danish state delegation visited Korea to celebrate the 60th anniversary for Danish-Korean diplomatic relations.

The group included Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Crown Princess Mary, who visited several Korean landmarks, as well as leading Danish companies in Korea, including Grundfos. The visit happened under the auspices of the Green Growth Alliance and included a focus on the UN's SDGs.

"We work targeted for sustainable development, not least with our efforts to solve global water and climate challenges. We have taken this opportunity to show what we can do in terms of supplying digital solutions to effectively monitor and manage water, and we have shared our own water ambitions, including our target to reduce our water footprint significantly," says Hyun Wook Shin, General Manager of Grundfos Korea.

It also involved a panel debate, where Flemming Besenbacher, Carlsberg Group Chairman, Rene Piil Pedersen, A.P. Moller-Maersk Managing Director, Yong-deok Cho from K-Water, and Ji-sun Hong from Korea Environment Corporation discussed the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. We for our part, of course, focused on water and climate action.

The delegation was also introduced to notable buildings in Seoul, including the Lotte Tower, the tallest building in Korea, and the fifth tallest in the world. Here, our pumps play their part in moving water to the top floors.
