YORK prefers Grundfos pumps

Far more cooling systems, snow cannons and other products from YORK will be equipped with Grundfos pumps in future. That is the expected result of an agreement that YORK EMEA has entered into with the global Key Account Team of Industrial OEM.

So far, Grundfos has primarily sold pumps to YORK in Denmark, Spain, Germany and Great Britain. The agreement, which was signed on 1 July, makes Grundfos the ”Preferred Supplier” for all of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The agreement primarily concerns NB and NK standard pumps and TP circulator pumps, but the local Grundfos companies are expected to follow up with sale of other Grundfos pumps, service and spare parts.

Grundfos’ Key Account Team has great expectations to the agreement, which is the most promising result of the key customer unit’s proactive and targeted efforts so far: We are convinced that already during the first year, we will sell at least 30 per cent more pumps to YORK. And once trade starts picking up, we expect sales to rise from seven to 12 million annually”.

Price and quality are crucial factors

Supply Chain Manager of YORK Niels Hestbech mentions the price and quality of the Grundfos products as very important reasons why the agreement became reality:
”Grundfos is a very strong player in the market and has well known and recognised products. Therefore, we would like to combine our well-known brand with Grundfos’. Being able to say that our products are equipped with Grundfos pumps is an advantage to us – some of our customers even demand it”.

Niels Hestbech considers it necessary for YORK to cooperate with a strong supplier, who can help solve problems when they arise.

”Like us, Grundfos covers most of the world, and we attach great importance to the fact that Grundfos offers global service”, says Niels Hestbech. Furthermore, he mentions the Grundfos sizing programme as a concrete advantage.

Professional introduction

Niels Hestbech cannot put a figure on how many Grundfos pumps YORK will buy, but so far he describes the cooperation as a success and commends Grundfos for its efforts.

”Grundfos has been very active and professional introducing itself and its products in our companies, and therefore we expect them to be motivated to make use of Grundfos’ solutions. Furthermore, we are going to exert pressure to get the companies to buy Grundfos pumps to the largest extent possible. When the cooperation becomes the success we expect it to be, we are ready to open more doors to Grundfos and develop the partnership globally”, says Niels Hestbech.
