To be the best, the Grundfos Installer Champion needs to beat the rest

30 national winners are ready to face each other and compete for the grand prize at this year’s Grundfos Installer Championship which takes place at the ISH fair in Frankfurt, Germany. The contestants will be put to the test with technical challenges where craftmanship and experience is the key to success.

30 contestants from different countries each has the chance to prove that they deserve to be named Grundfos Installer Champion 2019. They have all qualified in their local country by demonstrating their skills in disciplines designed to show off their installer competencies and mimic situations from their actual work-life. The competition will be fierce as the grand prize for the winner is a travel voucher worth €10,000!

It will be full speed ahead when lightning fast installers from 30 different countries meet for the Grundfos Installer Championship finale. The championship is running for the third time and is the biggest to date. The national winners have each been assigned a Grundfos contact who can coach and advice the contestant if needed – including preparing them for the different disciplines by training at home before coming to Frankfurt.

To be the best, be with the best

“The purpose of hosting the Installer Championship is a desire to show how important craftmanship, quality and partnership is. We as Grundfos wish to be in close dialogue with our customers, because we believe that we can make better solutions when we understand the everyday tasks and struggles that an installer faces”, says Jacob Fibiger Jensen, Group Senior Director, Group Marketing at Grundfos.

The Installer Championship concept has been founded in Europe and has been an integral tool for the Grundfos sales companies to communicate with the installers. “Sometimes it can be difficult for installers to show off their skills, but our Championship concept gives the professional installer a platform to reach a wider audience and get the recognition that this trade deserves. We are proud to be part of the partnership and to share knowledge and input with the world’s best installers,” says Humphrey Lau, Grundfos Regional Managing Director for Western Europe.

The Championship experience

The finale consists of three rounds – each with multiple disciplines. All contestants are guaranteed competition in the three qualification tasks: ALPHA3-balancing, pump replacement and SOLOLIFT2 service. From here four contestants will proceed to compete the semi-finals where they will face a pipe challenge, SCALA2 installation and mount a UNILIFT CC to drain a basin.

In the grand final two installers will go head to head in the disciplines:  Balancing wall, SOLOLIFT2 service, shower replacement and installation of COMFORT. The winner must excel in a wide range of our solutions that reflect the installers' daily lives.
