Mobile water treatment for large district heating network

EVITA is the name of Sweden's largest district heating network. It connects the district heating plants in Helsingborg, Lund and Landskrona and ensures an efficient utilisation and reliable supply of district heating.

The network consists of a pipeline of almost 30 km in lengt. When EVITA was commissioned, there was a temporary need to fill the pipeline with 11,000 m3 of demineralised water with low conductivity and correct pH level.

To accomplish this task, Landskrona Energi rented five rental containers from Grundfos equipped with a reverse osmosis system. Grundfos delivered:

  • Containers in operation 24h/day for more than a week
  • 24h onsite supervision and service
  • Delivery, installation, start-up, and dismantling of containers

The low conductivity could be achieved without further polishing of the demineralised water, as the tap water in Landskrona has a low TDS, which means better water quality after reverse osmosis.
