Grundfos and South Korea puts focus on sustainability
14-05-2012
South Korea and Denmark are not two countries you normally compare with each other, but both countries have high ambitions when it comes to sustainability and energy saving solutions. On May 12 the EXPO 2012 in South Korea opened. The theme of the event is “The Living Ocean and Coast” which means that the high ambitions will get free rein during the days Grundfos is represented at the Danish pavilion. Group Vice President and Regional Managing Director in Asia Pacific, Poul Due Jensen explains:
- It is a great honour for Grundfos to be a part of this year’s EXPO in South Korea. Grundfos is constantly striving to be at the technological forefront of innovative solutions that are both water- and energy efficient and in cooperation with the South Koreans, we can really get focused on the new sustainable opportunities.
A glimpse of tomorrow’s technology
Denmark and South Korea have already achieved big sustainability-projects together. This was when Grundfos and Samsung C&T in October 2011 signed a mutual agreement, Global Green Cooperation Agreement, on using and developing innovative and sustainable products for modern construction.
But it is constantly important for Grundfos to be part of first-movers
- EXPO is an amazing, non-commercial event to meet across cultural barriers and see what is happening in the areas of technology, architecture and design. It is at the EXPO, you can get a glimpse of the future, and it is only natural for us to be part of the international exchange of ideas, says Corporate Brand Director, Kim Klastrup.
800,000 and one Crown Prince
EXPO 2012 lasts until August. 15 of the 90 days will be reserved for Grundfos. 800,000 people are expected to visit the Danish pavilion. Among the visitors will be the Danish Crown Prince Couple who were part of the official opening on May 12.
- We are very excited about the opportunity to present a solution that can help solve the world’s problem with scarce water resources. We believe that our product is a part of the technology of the future. And it is also an exceptional event when the Crown Prince Couple participates, because they help create extra attention and support what we stand for as a company, says Poul Due Jensen.
