Grundfos helps flood victims
During late May and early June, Central Europe was hit hard by flooding, causing massive problems for the inhabitants in the affected areas, which included numerous countries.
Now the flooding is almost over, but the problems are not. They are only on the verge of being solved – starting with the clean-up work. And Grundfos lends a helping hand to exactly this by donating pumps and manpower for the recovery processes.
In Hungary, many Grundfos-employees are volunteering their help to tame the effects of the flooding – well-equipped for the task with Grundfos-pumps, donated for the job.
According to Antal Csóka, Lieutenant-Colonel at the local Disaster Management in Tatábanya, Hungary, the helping hands and equipment from Grundfos is being put to good use, especially in connection to the post flood recovery, when houses, cellars, gardens and public buildings are being dewatered.
In Austria, too, the local Grundfos-company is playing its part in the post-flooding clean up. Here, they have decided to donate a large number of pumps in cooperation with the Austrian Red Cross.
- We were shocked by the extent of the flooding, the damage and the suffering of the flood victims. Therefore, we immediately knew, we wanted to help, says Martin Palsa, General Manager of Grundfos Austria and continues:
- Donations like these can help the victims of the flood very fast and directly, and this is why we have chosen to contribute in this way, he says.
