The foam system can operate like any of the other fire sprinkler systems (Wet, Dry, Pre-action and Deluge systems). This means the system is activated either by activating the heat sensing element on the sprinkler heads or via the fire detection system.
Foam Deluge systems are used in places that are considered high hazard areas, such as power plants, off shore oil rigs, aircraft hangars and chemical storage or processing facilities.
