Water treatment

Water for irrigation or livestock usually comes from a stream, lake, river, canal, or groundwater well and water quality is typically low. Issues such as an irregular pH level may also need to be addressed.

SMART Digital (DDA, DDC and DDE) diaphragm dosing pumps offer modularity with fewer variants, making them a perfect pump for stock. Simple to operate, easy to set up and with a straightforward navigation menu, SMART digital also offers flow intelligence, which gives operational safety and precision. All this contributes to keeping life cycle costs low, and these intelligent dosing pumps can be applied to industrial water treatment processes that require chemical dosing such as CIP, pH adjustment, RO, filtration, and coagulation/flocculation.

These water issues need to be dealt with before the water is pumped onto a field or for livestock watering. For irrigation applications, fertigation and chemigation is an increasingly important component in the system, not least because of environmental issues. Each water treatment system is specific to the needs of a field and/or the crop requirements.

Irrigation pump handbook

This Irrigation Pump Handbook is a comprehensive presentation of modern irrigation. The aim is not to provide a ‘how-to’ guide to building an irrigation system; rather it is to explain why an irrigation system is complex, and to make that complexity understandable.
