Filtration and backwash

Final filtering of water for distribution is efficiently assisted by the Grundfos range of high-capacity pumps offering any pressure for any flow, feeding into filtration processes from a simple physical barrier to chemical or biological processes.

Grundfos pump systems range from HS split-case pumps, NB/NBG/NBE/NBGE and NK/NKG/NKE/NKGE end-suction pumps, TP/TPE vertical inline volute pumps where space is an issue, and our highly successful vertical multistage CR centrifugal pump.

These pumping solutions also deliver the very strong force with well-executed flush times and speeds required for the effective periodic backwashing of filters. Backwashing in water treatment plants is an automated process, usually run by programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The backwash cycle is usually triggered when the differential pressure over the filter exceeds a set value.
