In 2019, we launched a new strategy that articulates our role in society and outlines our goals and ambitions through to 2025. With a new primary purpose to “pioneer solutions to the world’s water and climate challenges and improve quality of life for people”, we set ambitious goals:

• We will reduce our water consumption and CO₂ emissions 50% by 2025, as compared with 2008 levels

• We will save 50 billion m³ of fresh water through efficiency and treatment by 2030

• By 2030, we will have contributed to providing safely managed drinking water to 300 million people in need

• We aspire to be climate positive by 2030

Each member of the Group Management team also agreed to tie part of their financial compensation to a sustainability index consisting of 10 underlying performance metrics.
