The ALPHA2 from Grundfos is "best in test"

The ALPHA2 from Grundfos is the best choice for energy efficiency with the lowest energy consumption. This was the conclusion, when the respected, German technology consultant TÜV Süd recently did a comparative test of a range of the most commonly used circulators for one- and two-family houses.

- Claiming the top spot in a test from a renowned testing institute such as TÜV Süd is a confirmation of our development work, says Frank Wiehmeier, Domestic Sales Director at Grundfos Germany and elaborates:

- Using energy responsibly is one of the core values at Grundfos and has a high priority in our product development. I the ALPHA2 we implemented everything that is currently technically possible and reasonable within this segment. We wanted to set a new standard. The TÜV Süd test is proving that we have succeeded.

The ALPHA2’s energy efficient attributes is partly due to a consistent optimization of motor design and hydraulics, as well as a state of the art control system, the AUTOADAPT. The control system leads to considerable energy reductions by recording the specific consumption pattern in a building and, based on this, controls the pump to ensure that it only runs as and when needed.

The test has been commissioned by and paid for by Grundfos Holding A/S.

FACTS:
·Two different sized circulators were tested, the ALPHA2 25-40 180 and the ALPHA2 25-60 180.

·Based on 5,000 operating hours, the circulators have annual energy consumptions of 44 and 74 kWh respectively.

·The two models tested by TÜV Süd have energy efficiency indexes (EEI’s) of 0.15 and 0.16 which meets both the current as well as the coming requirements of the EuP-directive.

·With more than 3,000,000 sold units, the ALPHA2 is the bestselling wet rotor circulator worldwide.
