New partnership for water in Vietnam

Higher quality in water treatment processes combined with smarter technologies for drinking water distribution will help save water resources in Vietnam in the years to come. This is part of the ambitions in a new partnership between DNP Water, the largest water utility developer in Vietnam, and Grundfos.

The parties have just recently put pen to paper on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Starting with a three-year period, we will collaborate for water, focusing on improving waste water treatment and water distribution through knowledge sharing and by employing smart water technology.

Grundfos will for example provide technical training for DNP Water’s engineers, and supply the company with solutions such as Demand Driven Distribution, where the utility through intelligent pressure management can significantly limit water loss in distribution.

“We are happy to secure this long-term partnership with Grundfos. In cooperation, we can introduce great solutions, which can help us achieve our ambitious targets of completing several clean water supply projects and becoming the number 1 supply company in Vietnam,” says Nguyen Van Hieu, CEO of DNP Group.

DNP Water is already a significant stakeholder in the Vietnamese water utility business, involved in the operation of water supply plants and provincial water networks with a total capacity of 600,000 cubic metres of water per day.

The MoU was signed during the recent P4G summit in Copenhagen, witnessed by Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Prime Minister of Denmark, and Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister of Vietnam.
