Sustainable motor becomes crowdpleaser in Germany

When the SHK fair, a tradefair for sanitation, heating, air conditioning and renewable energy, was held earlier this Month in Essen, Germany, the MGE motor from Grundfos caught the eyes of the crowd. It was highlighted among the best products, when it won the ‘Best-of-SHK’ award in the sustainability category.

It was the magazine SI-Informationen, who named winners in three different categories. The top spots were filled out on basis of a vote among the magazine’s many readers, who are mainly installers and other professionals. The fact that the roughly 50,000 readers pointed towards the Grundfos product, pleases the company – and it indicates what are among the top priorities for installers.

- When we can win such an award for a product, which most installers do not use frequently in their daily work, it tells me that this target audience is very interested in energy efficiency, says Dirk Schmitz, head of communication and PR at Grundfos in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

SI-Informationen has handed out trade awards the past 17 years and the ‘Best-of-SHK’ award has been part of the portfolio for four years. Grundfos has been nominated to the prestigious acknowledgement twice before, for the circulator MAGNA3 and the smart phone app AppCAPS, but this is the first time we take home the trophy.
