Direct system

A direct system is a heating system where the heat emitters are directly connected to a boiler or district heating system. This means, that the district heating water is supplied directly to the consumer’s radiators or other heat surfaces.

One of the advantages of a direct system is that it requires a minimum of technology or other heat surfaces. Being directly connected to the entire district heating network however has some disadvantages.

If a leak arises in the consumer’s heating system, the chances for serious water damages are great, since district heating systems contain virtually unlimited amounts of water.
