Grundfos to Establish Midwest Sales & Service Center, Streamline Offerings

With the recent release of its strategic plan for the next five years, Grundfos outlines its ambitions to pioneer innovative pumps and solutions and to become a market leader in all areas where it competes, including a focus on aftermarket service. In line with this strategic focus, the company’s manufacturing facility in Aurora, Illinois, will transform to a Sales & Service Center to serve the Midwest.

With this change, Grundfos will only provide aftermarket support and service of the installed base of the SD dry pit pump and the legacy Yeomans Chicago Corporation offerings, including Morris pumps and Sewer Chewer. Pending union discussions, Grundfos will move the production of its industry-leading SL/SE pumps and the support of the S-Range pumps to our production facility in Brookshire, Texas, on the campus of our Americas Regional headquarters. Additionally, Grundfos will establish a comprehensive packaged system manufacturing facility, including production of its Dosing Skid Systems (DSS) and Grundfos Engineered Systems in Brookshire.

“At Grundfos, we have the opportunity to really hone our focus to ensure we are providing the absolute best pumps, service and solutions to the market,” said Jonathan Hamp-Adams, Grundfos president of USA sales. “Focus can also mean making some tough decisions, such as where not to compete, but this is the only way we will achieve our goals. By focusing our submersible wastewater pump portfolio on our SL/SE range, we can best serve municipalities, commercial buildings and industry with truly best-in-class products.”

Grundfos Service will establish a strong Midwest presence with a service center in our Aurora, Illinois facility. The Chicagoland center will focus on aftermarket parts, including complete aftermarket pumps, and offer in-shop service and repair capabilities.

“We have seen tremendous growth and demand for service and aftermarket support in the US market,” said Rebecca O’Mara, Grundfos vice president of service and solutions. “A strong foothold in the Midwest was a missing piece for us. This shift of focus for our Chicagoland facility is a key enabler for us to continue to grow and serve our end-users with our expertise.”

In addition to the Service Center, the facility will offer a quick-ship option for Grundfos products that are in high demand.

“Our pumps are in critical applications, and we recognize that that means serving customers with greater speed and agility, and the Midwest Sales & Service Center will greatly contribute to that,” said Hamp-Adams.
