Direct system

A direct system is a heating system where the heat emitters are directly connected to a boiler or district heating system. This means, that the district heating water is supplied directly to the consumer’s radiators or other heat surfaces.

One of the advantages of a direct system is that it requires a minimum of technology or other heat surfaces. Being directly connected to the entire district heating network however has some disadvantages.

However, if a leak arises in the consumer’s heating system, the chances for serious water damages are great, since district heating systems contain virtually unlimited amounts of water.

Grundfos supplies circulator pumps as well as in-line single-stage and end-suction single-stage pumps for direct heating from the district heating system for all domestic and commercial heating applications.
