Quality Engineer

Are you ready for the challenge of ensuring that Grundfos continues to deliver the high quality that we are known for? Do you have strong technical understanding?

At Grundfos, quality is key. We strive to be experts and continually analyze, audit and improve our processes to secure the highest product value. Quality is to be a team while thinking independently. To have responsibility and be a part of our development with the support of the organization working towards a future of sustainability.

As Quality Engineer, you will manage both analytical and executional challenges as you drive dedicated quality initiatives.

” You will join a family-owned organization that can afford to work with long-term goals and invest in the development of its people. You will get all the training you need as well as all of the opportunities that a global organization has to offer," says Dejan Mirkov, Quality Group Leader;

The team

In Quality Team at Indjija, Serbia -  consisting of Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Assurance Engineers Quality Technicians and Quality System Engineer, - you will support product development while solving production issues. You can expect around 10 days of international travel a year and the opportunity to influence the way we work with quality. You are the link between the customer, the product developers and the production. It is up to the team and standards to decide what constitutes an issue – that requires diplomacy and a great deal of technical insight.

At Grundfos, quality is a key area that receives a lot of attention from our top management. You will have plenty of opportunity to influence decisions as you collaborate with colleagues across all levels of the organization,” says Dejan.

Ensuring quality

This role requires you to ensure that our products meet our quality benchmark by running problem solving, analysis and proactive quality projects to ensure that our product fulfill all customer requirements and meet delivery deadlines. To do so, you:

  • Lead and facilitate problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Set up containment actions as well as countermeasures with minimal impact on delivery and cost, keeping scrap and rework levels to a minimum
  • Handle data and analysis tools, i.e. 8D & PPS
  • Carry out internal audits and ensure follow-up, maintaining a constant focus on top 3 quality problems
  • Suggest and lead small strategic and analytical projects to continuously improve quality
  • Turning customer requirement into measureable specifications
  • Ensuring that specifications are verified and validated
  • Evaluating early feedback from market and reacting on failures
  • Communicating the risks to the rest of the organisation
  • Maintaining focus on the product quality status throughout development cycle

Technical insight, strong analytical skills and executional drive

You have a solid technical understanding combined with strong analytical skills and an interest and flair for project management. While you have an excellent eye for detail, you have an equally acute sense of urgency in quality matters, and this allows you to strike the all-important balance between perfectionism and execution. You succeed in driving initiatives in a complex matrix organization because you have solid communication skills that enable you to collaborate with colleagues across product management and the production floor. Moreover, you:

  • Hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in quality engineering or similar such as perhaps mechanical management.
  • Either have hands-on experience with quality assurance or a very strong analytical mindset
  • Have 2+ years of experience from a production environment, specifically within manufacturing of physical products
  • Speak and write English and Serbian fluently.

“You will be working in the intersection between analysis and execution, so a keen sense of structure and strong organizational skills are a must. And if you enjoy taking the lead and driving initiatives, we are a fantastic place to pursue your ambitions,” Dejan finishes.
