What do we offer?
This position is your opportunity to play a leading role in all technical matters related to cast iron at the world’s leading pump manufacturer Grundfos. You will be responsible for both practical matters as providing technical support during approval of new suppliers and on theoretical matters as performing early stage casting simulations to provide useful insights to our cast iron part designers.
We offer a challenging workplace with excellent professional and personal development opportunities in an inspiring, international work environment with the world’s leading pump manufacturer. We value initiative, responsibility and the right balance between creativity and quality in all solutions.
You refer to the Manager of Structural Design & Simulations, Anders Bøge.
“You will join a dedicated team in a highly professional environment with a strong technical commitment, consisting of both simulation and casting specialists. This position is a unique chance to get a job where you together with other key specialists will ensure that we maintain and develop our abilities to develop robust, manufacturable and high-quality casted components at Grundfos,” Anders explains.
What is the job about?
Structural Design & Simulations is a part of the Mechanical Development function in Grundfos and the department has a dual responsibility for both driving the structural design of new products, offerings and platforms by extensive use of simulations and to support the organization with specialist knowledge within casting to ensure that our products are designed for manufacturing and that we maintain a high quality of our casted parts delivered by our suppliers.
The Casting Specialist in this position will be responsible for securing manufacturability and high quality of our cast iron components by consulting and reviewing cast iron designs done by our internal designers. The Casting Specialist will also be responsible for supporting our Engineering function within technical product lifecycle maintenance activities.
Another key aspect of the job is to maintain a close collaboration with our suppliers to ensure a continued market leading quality of the cast iron components that they deliver for our products.
In addition, the Casting Specialist will also be responsible for supporting the purchase organization and provide technical support when introducing new cast iron suppliers and when conducting audits.
An additional important aspect of the job is the constant improvement of our internal processes and to investigate new casting technologies capable of improving the quality and reduce cost and lead time.
The final key area of this position is the application of casting simulations and the responsibility of giving solid recommendations to the designers based on the insight gained by conducting early stage casting simulations. The output gained from the casting simulations will also be used as input to the structural simulation specialists, for them to increase model fidelity.
What do you need to apply?
- B.Sc. in Mechanical, Materials, Process Engineering or/and educated Casting Technician.
- Solid understanding of cast iron materials and metallurgy.
- Experience within sand casting.

To be successful in this position, you must be a pro-active team player with an internationally oriented mindset. Your preferred workstyle is analytic, systematic and structured! You can balance high-quality deliverables with fast execution and effectiveness.
And finally, your interpersonal skills allow you to translate your specialist knowledge into input and solutions for non-specialists and provide them with valuable insight and recommendations,” Anders finishes.
