Lead Category Manager for Marketing

Do you have experience with designing sourcing strategies and drive tendering processes and negotiations of global contracts within Marketing scope? You get to work across cultures and companies and take responsibility for a portfolio of indirect suppliers in areas such as advertising agencies, printed materials, online media, marketing events etc. 
You will join the Global Indirect Purchasing team. This team is responsible for sourcing of indirect products and services globally through an organization located worldwide. In this position you will be based in our  HQ in Bjerringbro, Denmark, to leverage on the proximity with our business stakeholders. In the Global Indirect Purchasing you will join an ambitious team, where your effort and ability to create value for the organization makes a difference and has a direct business impact. You report directly to Senior Director Indirect Purchasing, Chiara Sabbadin.

What is the job about?
As Lead Category Manager you are accountable for value & savings delivery across the category spend (approx. 40 m€) whether sourced globally, regionally and/or locally. You manage the sourcing process towards suppliers by codeveloping and implementing a sourcing strategy to support the business, you lead negotiations/tendering processes, ensure favorable and compliant contracts closure implementation and optimize the portfolio of suppliers doing business with Grundfos within this area.
Moreover, you provide leadership in supply market intelligence research and analysis activities for visibility in key cost drivers, market trends and industry best practices. You conduct relevant benchmarks as well as you analyze spend to identify improvement opportunities and to consider and compare total cost scenarios.

Succeeding in this position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, and it is important that you understand the needs and requirements of the organization, while you also have the courage, knowledge and foundation to challenge the stakeholders in terms of habits and existing solutions. This to continuously increase the overall benefits for Grundfos.
Your primary supplier portfolio will consist of suppliers providing various Marketing related goods and services to Grundfos. Dependent on the workload, you may also take responsibility for indirect projects and negotiations within other areas of our business.
It is important that you continuously follow the trends and market development within your area of responsibility to be able to consider relevant benchmarks, market trends and cost drivers. Also, you need to be able to challenge both internal stakeholders and suppliers and be ambitious when you negotiate,” Chiara explains.
What do you need to apply?
Most probably, you hold a relevant commercial master's or bachelor's degree combined with minimum 5-10 years of experience with indirect purchase or agreements within the Marketing category. You are experienced in communicating at senior executive level as well as other levels internally as well as externally. You are a skilled and confident negotiator with experience from an international organization and have experience with managing an international supplier portfolio. You speak and write English at professional level.
You have experience in using e-sourcing tools and understand how to balance the use of these with other means of communication.
Your experience enables you to work independently as well as think analytically, and it gives you the confidence to negotiate at a strategic level while being diplomatic and constructive, yet firm. You are used to collaborating across functional and organizational levels and you are able to prioritize during a busy day. Finally, you easily develop and maintain trustworthy relationships and you remain structured with a focus on getting things done,” Chiara finishes.
