Detalizēts risinājuma MIXIT apskats

Uzziniet par risinājuma MIXIT daudzajām iezīmēm un funkcijām un iegūstiet izpratni par to, kā notiek nodošana ekspluatācijā.

Where the previous course examined the overall advantages of the MIXIT solution, this course will go a little bit deeper. We will take a detailed look at the features and functionalities of the MIXIT solution, as well as examine how to select, size and commission a MIXIT. To make things clearer for you, we will also provide you with a specific benefits overview at the end of the course.

The MIXIT solution is application-specific, meaning that if you’ve selected a specific application, you will only be shown the features and functionalities that are relevant to that specific application, making it much easier for you to install and commission. For good measure, let’s also remind you that the MIXIT solution covers both two-way and three-way valve applications, making it the ideal solution regardless of your application.

Simply use Grundfos GO to select either the two-way valve or three-way valve operation. In previous courses, we touched upon key offerings that the MIXIT solution brings, but it is its vast range of advanced features and functionalities that truly make it stand out. From outdoor temperature compensation to the four balancing limiters, the vast range of advanced features make the MIXIT solution the leading solution within mixing loops. Let’s take a brief look at these features.

First of all, there’s the outdoor temperature compensation function. This defines the flow temperature setpoint as a function of outdoor temperature. With such a function, you can reduce flow temperature and thereby the energy bill.

Next, there are the four limiters. The flow limiter and thermal power limiter are designed to prevent starvation, the return temperature limiter ensures a low return temperature, and the differential temperature limiter ensures correct delta-T.

First, there’s the flow limiter, which limits the flow through the valve from the primary side. By using the flow limiter, you can preset the primary flow and thus eliminate the need for a balancing valve.

The thermal power limiter limits the power entering the mixing loop independent of the flow. The return temperature limiter allows MIXIT to limit the return temperature below a configurable limit. Finally, there’s the differential temperature limiter which keeps a fixed delta-T between the flow and return temperature on the primary side.

MIXIT also boasts a variety of monitoring possibilities including static system pressure monitoring, flow monitoring, and heat monitoring, while it also offers various remote-control solutions for different types of buildings. For instance, for small and medium-sized buildings, you can connect it to Grundfos iSolutions Cloud, and for larger buildings, you can utilise the built-in fieldbus control. In addition, MIXIT offers a wide product portfolio. Consisting of valves from DN25 to DN50 with a Kvs range from 6.3 to 40, you are guaranteed to find a valve size that matches your needs. Depending on the functionalities that you need, the MIXIT unit is available as a standard MIXIT variant, which is the basic offering, or a MIXIT DYNAMIC variant, which offers pressure independent valves, limiters and energy monitoring.

If you choose the standard variant, you can easily upgrade to the MIXIT DYNAMIC variant later. Both variants are compatible with the Connect upgrade, allowing you to use fieldbus functionality for BACnet or Modbus, as well as enabling connection to Grundfos iSolution Cloud. In the second part of this course, we are going to very briefly take a look at the sizing, selecting and commissioning process of a MIXIT solution. These three areas will be examined in detail in later courses.

In terms of sizing and selecting a MIXIT solution, you typically need to know the flow. To calculate the flow, you need to know the heat load and the temperature set. Once you know these values, you should be ready to size and select your MIXIT solution. Let's take a look at an example:

On this chart, you can see the performance range of a two-way valve at a differential pressure of 20 kPa across the valve. So, lets imagine that your heat load is 200 kW, your flow is approximately 6 m3/h and your delta-temperature is 30℃, then, as the chart shows, you should select a MIXIT DN32. Commissioning the MIXIT solution is equally as fast and simple. Basic commissioning can simply be performed by means of the pump’s display unit and the MIXIT display unit.

If you want to set up additional functions such as outdoor temperature compensation, limiters, alarms, you can do so by means of the Grundfos GO Remote app, where you can also, among other things, set the pump’s control mode and hydraulic system. To round off this module, we are going to present a clear overview of the benefits that a MIXIT solution brings, regardless of whether you are an engineer, installer or a distributor.

Let’s start with the engineer advantages:

- MIXIT is easy and safe to design in buildings, as it has reduced the number of components to just one box solution.

-With just one point of integration, it is easy and fast to integrate.

- Its built-in, user-friendly setup wizards enable easy commissioning.

- It has a small footprint – typically between 0,5m2 and 2m2.

And, it offers a high performance thanks to the flawless interaction between system components.

Next, there are the installer advantages:

- MIXIT offers an increased efficiency, allowing you to save up to 50 % of your installation and commissioning time.

- It is fast and easy to install, as approximately 8 or 9 components have been built into one box solution.

- It offers easy commissioning thanks to its built-in, user-friendly setup wizards.

Its built-in connectivity makes it ready to connect to BMS systems right from the box."

Finally, there are the wholesaler advantages:

- Reducing the number of components to just one makes MIXIT easier to select than other solutions.

And the all-in-one box solution means that there’s just one point of contact.
