For the five-star Sanctuary Cove resort on Australia’s Gold Coast, perfection is a must – and their services are built around two golf courses that require flawless irrigation. Sanctuary Cove entrusts care of the critical pumping systems to Allrange Electrical Services who, as an off-site provider, depend on Grundfos Connect to monitor and manage the resort’s two Grundfos Hydro MPC Booster Installations.
Easy pump management from anywhere
Bryan Ranger, owner of Allrange, has been working with Sanctuary Cove for almost 20 years and has recently taken over a second business, Hydro Pumping and Controls, to strengthen his relationship with Grundfos and become a full-service partner.
He has added Grundfos Connect to both of the Sanctuary Cover irrigation stations so that he can provide continual service monitoring and promptly alert the grounds staff to any matters requiring their attention.
“Grundfos Connect is easy to set up,” he explains. “You simply connect a modem and put a standard SIM card into the back of it. Then you give Grundfos the MAC address and it’s online within an hour or two.”
Remote metrics, trends and control
The connection allows his team to monitor both of Sanctuary Cove’s pump stations across a range of hourly metrics to analyse operating trends – including start per hours, running times, flow curves and more to ensure efficient operation. Grundfos Connect will also generate automatic fault alerts.
Bryan is able to monitor the alerts 24/7 and decide whether he needs to alert Sanctuary Cove immediately. Grundfos Connect gives him the option of isolating the problem pump remotely and keeping the rest of the system running, so that non-urgent matters can be resolved during normal working hours. It is another way the remote dashboard helps the resort save money.
“Some of our other customers are happy to have someone else look after all of it,” Bryan says. “It’s piece of mind that they’ve got someone outside looking in to manage the system, take care of any issues, and advise them when they need to address something.”
“Other clients are proactive and like to look at their own trending and everything else for themselves.”
This flexibility supports a close relationship between turf professionals and their Grundfos service agents. Groundskeepers can manage the performance and efficiency of their irrigation programs for themselves, while knowing their service provider is also monitoring system performance and will receive an immediate alert if there is an issue.

Better performance on the ground
From his perspective, Bryan appreciates the close support and responsiveness he receives from Grundfos’ personnel. He only recommends and installs Grundfos systems for his client base, especially since taking over the Hydro Pumping business and becoming a service partner.
He says the support from Grundfos underpins the service he provides to his customers.
“As Allrange we had a close relationship with Grundfos and now I deal with them almost daily – not only the account managers, but also product specialists and the repairs and maintenance division.”
Ultimately, however, it is about Sanctuary Cove and the experience they can offer their guests. Grundfos Connect helps to ensure both golf courses remain in premier playing condition, while delivering efficiency and cost savings for the resort.
