Grundfos has concluded its participation in the Green Buildings track as part of an official Danish State Visit to Australia, led by Their Majesties The King and Queen of Denmark. The visit comes as Grundfos enters its 46th year in Australia, highlighting the company’s longstanding commitment to the nation’s water, agriculture, and infrastructure sectors. The official State Visit, which took place from the 16th-19th March, provided a platform for strengthening Australian–Danish collaboration on sustainability and energy transition, while also enabling Grundfos to formally announce a new local partnership with Rural Aid to support drought‑affected farming communities.
Strengthening Resilience with Rural Aid
Grundfos’ commitment to Australia goes beyond its cities and reaches the heart of the country’s agricultural regions. The State Visit was also an opportunity to officially announce a new philanthropic partnership between Grundfos and Rural Aid, Australia’s leading charity supporting farmers, their families, and rural communities. Funded by the Grundfos Foundation, the partnership was sealed with an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) handshake between Grundfos CEO Poul Due Jensen, Country Director Grundfos Australia and Vice President APAC/China Rick Holland and Rural Aid CEO John Warlters.
This commitment widened the delegation’s focus from green buildings to address critical climate resilience and sustainable water infrastructure challenges facing rural communities. Supported by the Grundfos Foundation, the partnership will help safeguard Australian farmers by funding critical water infrastructure, including water tanks and pump replacements, to strengthen resilience in drought‑affected areas.

Investing in our Workforce
Grundfos also highlighted the importance of strengthening the sector’s future workforce during the Visit, particularly through initiatives such as Women in Water Connect. Developed in Australia, the initiative supports greater representation of women across the water sector and creates opportunities for connection, visibility, and capability building for women within the industry. Supported by a grant from the Grundfos Global DEI Committee to help national expansion, the initiative demonstrates how greater diversity can help build the skills and perspectives needed to support Australia’s transition to more sustainable, efficient infrastructure.
During the Royal Business Walk, Grundfos representatives introduced the initiative to His Majesty The King of Denmark and The Hon Minister Chris Bowen, the Minister for Climate Change and Energy taking the opportunity to highlight the role inclusive leadership can play in shaping the future of the water sector.

Rick Holland, Country Director Grundfos Australia and Vice President APAC and China said: “Grundfos has been a proud partner to Australia's water, agriculture and infrastructure sectors for more than four decades, and we are honoured to showcase the strength of Australian-Danish collaboration during this historic State Visit. This visit has demonstrated that by uniting government, industry, and community partners, we can deliver immediate and impactful solutions for energy infrastructure and water efficiency while supporting Australia's long term transition to renewable energy. Our participation in the Green Building track underscores our commitment to delivering world leading water energy efficiency solutions that are vital to Australia's green transition and decarbonisation goals. We see immense value in these partnerships at Grundfos Australia and are proud to play a part in the broader conversation around collaboration.
Our commitment extends outside of major cities to the regional communities where water security is a matter of survival. Our partnership with Rural Aid, bolstered by a grant from the Grundfos Foundation, is a testament to our dedication to strengthening water security for drought affected farmers. Whether through pioneering sustainable building systems or strengthening the resilience of rural Australia, Grundfos remains focused on solving the water and climate challenges that matter most to Australians."
