Industrial Process : Reduce Your System Complexity With Grundfos iSOLUTIONS
OVERVIEW:
India’s beauty and personal care industry is growing at a rapid pace; thanks to changing lifestyles, an increase in consumer spending and a shift towards branded products. Global oleochemicals market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.9% between 2019-2025, and in developing countries like India, the industry is expected to grow at 10%. Robust growth of the personal care industry, favourable government regulations, and rising consumerism are among the major factors boosting demand for oleochemicals in the country. MIL India Pvt Ltd., an OEM based out of north India is in the business of plants & machinery that manufactures soap & detergent, and on turnkey basis for products catering to beauty and personal care industry.
THE SITUATION:
During the soap manufacturing process, it is essential to get the right mix of raw materials for a quality product. Dosing pumps ensure that these raw materials are dosed in the right quantity. MIL India was using a fixed speed pump along with pneumatic valves in their plant to maintain the constant pressure and system flow. This fluid mixture was then bypassed using these two pneumatic valves commanded by the backpressure valve resulting in wastage of both product and energy. Furthermore, re-circulation of the fluid mixture would raise the fluid temperature making the installation hazardous!
THE SOLUTION:
Grundfos CRIE solution with inbuilt intelligence was just apt to meet MIL India’s process automation & control requirement. Grundfos configured the CRIE pump with an inbuilt PI controller and input/output modules to eliminate the use of extra valves in the hydraulic line. With a special sealing arrangements, the CRIE pump was able to handle the aggressive fluid at process temperature. Fluid bypass line was eliminated as the CRIE pump was automated to respond to flow meter signal directly – thus avoiding extra pumping and keeping the fluid temperature under the limit, making it a safe operating system.
THE OUTCOME:
