The Crop giant, Syngenta India, takes Grundfos help to reap energy benefits

THE SITUATION

In 2009, Grundfos India conducted a comprehensive Pump Audit in Syngenta India, Goa. It was noticed that Syngenta India pumps were adding to the overall energy loss and were consuming more power.

THE SOLUTION

Grundfos India believes that, Energy Conservation is most efficient when it benefits everyone. The Pump Audit helps to take affirmative action, in order to save energy. Post the Pump Audit, Grundfos India suggested the replacement of existing old pumps with the new energy efficient pumps. During 2009, three pumps of NK 125 - 250 / 264 were used in CHW circulation and these pumps saved 142625 kW. In 2010 164253 kW of energy was saved. Five numbers of NK 80 - 200 /222 - 55kw, Panel 1V_5p used in CHW supply saved 221829 kW in 2009, 328280 kW in 2010 and 138244 kW in 2011.  Five numbers of NK 80 - 200 / 222 - 55kw, Panel 5V_5p used in CW Supply saved 498572 kW in 2009, 546455 kW in 2010 and 340275 kW in 2011.

Liquid temperature: 10°C up to + 160°C

Operating pressure: Max 10 or 16 bar

THE OUTCOME

The performance of pumps provided by Grundfos India was satisfactory and the Energy Audit was greatly appreciated by Syngenta India. The Pump Audit showed that the energy consumed by each pump was reduced considerably and also the payback period was also very short.
