Energy efficiency holds the key to more sustainable commercial buildings
We urgently need to change the way we build and operate our buildings. Because buildings account for a significant portion of global energy consumption – in fact, most buildings use between 20 and 50% more energy than necessary. And that’s even factoring in new constructions or newly renovated buildings.
But we believe it’s possible to change this – and that there’s still massive potential to save energy in buildings. It all starts with intelligent solutions that enable more energy-efficient HVAC and water systems.
Energy efficiency is crucial for creating a sustainable future
As our CEO Bent Jensen puts it, we can only achieve a green energy transition if we reduce our energy use. And according to the International Energy Agency, energy efficiency is the first fuel in the fight against climate change.
The solutions we need are already available today. Now we just need to start implementing them at scale in buildings all around the world.
Driving real progress through collaboration
We have a strong belief in the potential of energy efficiency – and we’re proud to have made progress, becoming the first water solution company in the world to receive a validated SBTi target.
We are also working to phase out traditional fixed-speed pumps, moving towards energy-efficient e-pumps with a frequency converter that help ensure the pump only runs when needed.
This is just one of the initiatives that make up our innovation roadmap – but we won’t be able to do it on our own. That’s why we want to bring together property owners, designers, consultants, contractors, operators and suppliers.
