Grundfos ramps up SCE training programme

Following an agreement with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) in early March, the Grundfos training team has now ramped up its training programme for the Council’s 240,000 members, completing a further 3 training sessions during May.

This now brings to 130 the total number of engineers who have so far completed the SCE-approved 2-day training course at Grundfos’ Riyadh Office since the programme started on 25/26 March, with an initial session aimed at the Council’s recent engineering graduate members.

The objective of the programme, which was the subject of a Memorandum of Understanding with SCE, is to provide recently qualified SCE members with basic skills and knowledge on pumps, which form an essential part of virtually every industrial process, commercial building and domestic services installation.

Training includes theory and practical sessions on basic pump theory, motors and pumping systems, and is designed to give the new engineers a firm founding on how pumps work, their applications, the types and technologies involved, as well as an overview of the latest state-of-the-art sustainable pump solutions.

Discussions are already underway with SCE to extend the programme to include advanced training for more experienced Council members, to enable them to stay ahead of new developments and provide basic training for colleagues to further support the programme’s aims.

Further details of course dates and supporting events will be published as dates are agreed. SCE members interested in taking part should contact the Council at their Riyadh headquarters, or speak to their usual Grundfos contact.
