A deep-rooted respect for people and planet

At Grundfos, we believe water is the most essential resource on the planet. Yet to realise its potential and transition to a water-secure, net-zero future, the world faces several challenges. Amongst these are the need to move more water while using less energy, increase our resilience to the impacts of climate change, and improve access to water for all. These are global challenges and we’re committed to playing our part in solving them.

Sustainability at Grundfos

Sustainability is a fundamental component of our business strategy. We’re accelerating our energy-efficient water and digital solutions, as this is where we can make the most impact on some of the world’s most critical challenges.

Four strategic priorities – water stewardship, water access, climate transition and circularity –are the areas we aim to shape our industry in innovation, circularity and net zero impact.

We support these priorities with two key enablers: people, and governance and integrity.

Water stewardship

Building a water-resilient world through reducing water use, transforming lives and adapting to water shocks. We reduced 46% of water withdrawal in own operations since 2008, and in 2025 we enabled end users to save 1.6bn m³ of water.

Water access

Providing water to people in need. In 2025, we delivered access to safe water for 20 million people through both direct projects and estimated sales channels.

Climate transition

Setting a clear path toward net zero by 2050, through smarter and more efficient pump technology. In 2025, we reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 1.5% compared to 2024. We are well on our way to achieving our near-term scope 3 target. We have currently reached a 25% reduction compared to our 2020 baseline, and we intend to maintain this reduction rate going forward.

Circularity

Embedding circular principles throughout our business, and in 2025, we collected 83 tonnes of pumps from customers.

In 2025, Grundfos was awarded a platinum medal from EcoVadis for the second consecutive year. As the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, EcoVadis places us in the top 1% of over 130,000 rated companies. This recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to sustainability and offers valuable insights into our performance across environmental impact, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Annual report 2025

For the first time, our financial performance and sustainability statements are presented together in our annual report, reflecting how deeply our sustainability priorities are woven into our strategy, innovation and the long-term value we create for customers and society.

Download the report and explore our progress across key sustainability impact areas in 2025.

By 2030, we’ve committed to:

  • Reduce absolute scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions by 50%, from a 2020 base year
  • Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 25%, from a 2020 base year

By 2050, we’ve committed to:

  • Reduce absolute scope 1, scope 2, and scope 3 GHG emissions by a minimum of 90%
  • Neutralise emissions beyond our value chain

Achieving our ambitions together

Our four strategic priorities directly connect with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and Goal 13 (Climate Action) are where we have the most positive impact through our core solutions and wider influence.

By taking responsibility for our actions and working together, we can solve the world’s most pressing sustainability challenges in a better way.  We see customers, employees, communities, suppliers, NGOs, governments and other businesses as our allies in creating change. Only together we will realise our full potential.

Building a water-resilient world

Water is the source of life. But the water cycle is increasingly out of balance – too much, too little or too polluted. To help secure water for homes, buildings, industries and communities worldwide in a changing climate, we are taking action to shape a water-resilient future with our water stewardship approach.

Decarbonise every drop of water

At Grundfos, a climate solution is found in every drop of water, especially when we move, manage and treat water by using less energy. That is why we are committed to reducing emissions through our intelligent energy-efficient solutions and taking action across our operations and supply chain.

Reducing impact across the product life cycle

We focus on developing products and solutions that enable energy and water efficiency, as well as circularity and reduced material use.

Global governance policies

We’re committed to being an ethical, value-based corporate citizen operating fairly and legally in every market.

Stakeholders and partnerships

We engage with a broad network of stakeholders at global and local levels to strengthen relationships, understand interests and inform our sustainability actions.
