Helping you feel prepared

Interviews are as much about connection as answering questions. We want to get to know you, and we hope you’re keen to get to know us too. That’s why we’ve put together some tips to help you prepare in a way that makes you feel ready, so when you come to the interview, you can simply focus on being yourself.

Before the interview

A little preparation can go a long way. The following are some simple suggestions that may help make it easier to get ready:

  • Know the role. Read the job listing again carefully and think about how your experience connects to what we’re looking for. It helps to have some background knowledge of Grundfos, too.
  • Reflect on your journey. Prepare a few examples from your past work or studies that show how you approach challenges, collaborate or learn.
  • Come with questions. Thoughtful questions show curiosity and engagement, but try to avoid asking things already covered in the job ad.
  • Set up your space. If your interview is online, make sure your tech works and your surroundings are calm and distraction-free.
  • Think out loud. If you’re asked to solve a problem or share your thinking, talk through your process. It helps us understand how you approach things.

Feeling nervous? You’re not alone

It’s completely normal to feel nervous before an interview, and it’s perfectly okay to say so. Here are a few ways to manage those nerves:

  • Say it out loud. Mentioning your nervousness at the start, perhaps with a smile, can be a relief and helps break the ice.
  • Take a sip. Having a cup of tea, coffee or water nearby can not only help avoid your mouth getting dry, but gives you a moment of pause to regather your thoughts.
  • Remember we’re human too. Our recruiters and hiring managers are keen to hear about you and your experiences, but aren’t here to catch you out in any way. We’re on your side!
  • It’s okay not to know. If a question doesn’t make sense or you’re unsure of the answer, say so. Asking for clarification shows confidence, not weakness.

During the interview

We’ll guide the conversation, so you don’t need to worry about managing time or structure. Just focus on being present and authentic.

  • Listen carefully. And if something isn’t clear, just ask.
  • Be yourself. We’re interested in your perspective, not a perfect script.
  • Take your time. If you need a moment to think or jot something down, that’s absolutely fine.
