Deep-dive into advanced pump training with Oman Pumps

In Salalah on 20th March, the team focused on the latest ‘intelligent’ pump technology and controls, showing how they help to optimise power consumption, minimise down-time and increase operational efficiency in water utility and commercial building services applications.

Grundfos control and water management specialists, Rajesh Sunkarineni and Feroz Khan, took the audience of more than 50 top representatives from authorities, consultants, contractors and end-users, through the entire water cycle, from water intake, treatment and pressure boosting to wastewater transport, treatment and recycling.

The sessions explained how Grundfos’s iSolutions connects pumps with cloud connectivity and digital services, and enable outstanding performance, control and predictability at every stage, as well as significantly reducing energy consumption.

To underline how simple the systems are to operate, a live demonstration of Remote-Control Management was included, during which participants were given the opportunity to stop and start a submersible pump arrangement remotely using a cell phone.

Earlier, on the 13th March, the companies had teamed-up for the first time ever to address the issue of energy recovery with end-users, contractors and consultants from Muscat’s water treatment industry.

They were looking at BMS energy recovery systems and, in particular, a completely new range of Grundfos BMSX high pressure boosters which utilise highly efficient pressure exchanger technology.

A packed audience heard Feroz Khan and Grundfos water treatment specialists Henning Vester and Pablo Tojo, explaining the difference in BMS systems and the advantage of BMSX over other recovery devices.

The event reinforced Grundfos’ position as the leading providers of complete WT pump solutions, explained the advantages of BMS upgrading in existing installations and underlined the overall level of support that Grundfos gives to customers throughout the life of a project.
