Grundfos makes the case for Electro-chlorination across the Middle East

Starting on 26th September in Muscat, Oman, with a seminar entitled ‘State-of-the-art Disinfection with On-site generation of sodium hypochlorite’, the series moved on to Abu Dhabi on 3rd October and Kusadasi, Turkey on 9th October, before the latest presentation in Erbil, Iraq on 30th October.

The objective of the seminars has been to raise awareness and understanding of Electro-chlorination technology to enable customers to better appreciate the design and benefits of the latest Grundfos Disinfection and dosing systems in water treatment.

By passing a DC current through a diluted brine solution, the eco-friendly Grundfos systems start a process of electrolysis, producing a hypochlorite solution which is then dosed into the water to kill any bacteria or other pathogenic germs.

A unique safety concept is reported by the 3rd party authorisation ‘TÜV SÜD’ for the systems developed and manufactured in Germany.

Low in operating cost, the Grundfos Electro-chlorination systems are safer to use than traditional chlorine-based treatments, as they do not involve any dangerous ingredients.

Attracting a good mix of authorities, end-users, consultants and contractors, the seminars focused on Grundfos’ popular Selcoperm and advanced Smart XL digital dosing pumps, as well as other products from the company’s Dosing and Disinfection range.

With support from local partners Muna Noor in Muscat and Almoayyed for the Abu Dhabi seminar, the events were held in collaboration with local sales and marketing teams and led by the Grundfos Gulf Dosing and Disinfection Competence Centre (DDCC).

Selcoperm systems are growing in popularity across the Middle East, with 11 recent installations in 7 locations across Oman alone. The latest seminars helped to demonstrate that expert local support is available to help and advice on the water treatment solutions to suit individual customer’s specific water conditions and needs.
