Grundfos takes disinfection message to Bahrain
Grundfos Gulf, the Middle East’s leading pump specialists, underlined the importance of effective disinfection in delivering the high-performance water solutions crucial to Bahrain’s future development plans, when it addressed a group of the country’s leading engineers and contractors at an Open House Seminar on 6/7 December.
Organized in conjunction with Grundfos’ local dosing and disinfection partner, Almoayyed Electrical & Instrumentation Systems, a leading specialist in energy and water supply systems, the two-day event brought together the expertise of leading technology, systems and controls suppliers, at the Gulf Hotel’s Awal Ballroom, for an open seminar and discussion to investigate the latest ‘Technical Solutions for Sustainable Operations’.
More than 100 top decision-makers from across Bahrain’s industrial sectors were joined by local consultants and main contractors to hear technical presentations from representatives of leading Middle East companies, who had flown in specially to provide an update on the latest developments in areas such as water management, valves, controls and pumping systems.
Grundfos explained the importance of disinfection as part of a holistic approach to water and waste handling infrastructure, and presented a range of solutions including Chlorine dioxide generation and advanced electrochlorination systems. With an increasing reliance on desalination and growing concerns about the health effects of bromates, discussions focused on the Chlorine dioxide systems, which are more effective in reducing bromate levels, and are now replacing standard Chlorine based disinfection systems across the Middle East.
Grundfos also exhibited their state-of -the-art SMART Digital range and demonstrated the pinpoint accuracy, reliability and modularity of the pumps, which not only extend the range of additives that can be delivered, but feature new technology and features that ensure lower operation costs and increased process safety.
As well as the opportunity to network and exchange practical experiences with attendees from other companies and industries, delegates were given the opportunity to interact on a one-to-one basis with technical specialists from Grundfos and other presenting companies, to discuss specific disinfection issues and get feedback based on real life projects.
