Grundfos expands Water Utility seminar programme

Grundfos has expanded its popular Water Utility Seminars in Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, as part of ongoing campaign to cut energy usage and improve productivity across the Middle East through the use of best practicepump system design and engineering and the latest Digital and Smart technology.

Organized jointly with local partner Al Arfaj Engineering, the first of the seminars took place in Kuwait on April 25th, followed quickly by two further seminars in Oman (1st May) and Bahrain (2nd May) in conjunction with Oman Pumps and Areej Trading.

A total of 250 customers attended the three seminars, which focused largely on Water Utility issues, with the exception of the Oman event, located in the strategically important sea port of Duqm, where the programme was extended to include Commercial Building solutions.

After introductory presentations by Grundfos and local partners, attendees, including almost 100 design and project specialists from Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) and Ministry of Public Works (MOW), as well as representatives from Duqm’s Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZAD), were taken through a virtual tour of the water utility cycle, prior to  by an introduction to the world-leading range of advanced pumping solutions that Grundfos has now developed for each stage of the process.

With many local installations currently running old and inefficient pump systems, Grundfos experts highlighted the massive savings in process downtime and maintenance, as well as energy usage and wasted water that are possible by upgrading to the latest high efficiency pumping systems and reinforced this with an actual case study.

This was followed by a session on the latest generation of Grundfos iSolutions –‘intelligent’ systems that are being increasingly adopted in water utility and waste water installations, as well as hotel, hospital and commercial building complexes, acrossthe Middle East, to deliver greater reliability, reduced  maintenance requirements and very significant reductions in energy usage.

At the end of each session, participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss specific problems and issues with technical experts from both Grundfos and the local partner.

Feedback from all three seminars was very positive, with Bahrain’s engineers requesting follow-up in-house seminars and SEZAD appreciating Grundfos’ support as one of the first pump manufacturers to conduct much-needed training in the Duqm region.
