Grundfos Gulf heads for Munich Fair

Customers and staff from Grundfos Gulf were among the more than 140,000 visitors who made their way to Munich for the world’s leading Environmental Technologies Trade Fair, IFAT, from 14-18 May.

Interested to see the latest innovations in water, sewage, waste and recycling from more than 3000 international exhibitors, the Grundfos representatives’ first stop was in Hall 1 to see the Group’s impressive 228m2 double-decker stand, which was designed around the theme ‘Grundfos iSOLUTIONS: Pump- Cloud – Services .

Obviously hitting the right note with professional engineers, consultants, utilities and representatives from governments and clients around the world, the stand was inundated with visitors keen to experience at first hand the latest state-of-the-art digital control systems.

From a bank of 55” touch screens, the Grundfos contingent were able to join other stand visitors in experiencing ultimate control with a series of pumps linked by the latest generation Grundfos iSOLUTIONS Cloud (GiC) technology. With fingertip control of the latest Smart Digital XL intelligent dosing pumps; SP9 submersibles with frequency converters for flexible operation and speed of use; Hydro MPC pressure boosters and an operational PE pumping pit complete with AUTOADAPT and Mixer, plus the latest centrifugal pumps and Chlorine Dioxide dosing systems, visitors were given a feel of their future, today.

Elsewhere on the stand, they were also able to see the latest developments in solar water solutions, with an area dedicated to low cost, solar water treatment and dispensing equipment for remote areas; SQ Flex submersibles and RSI renewable solar invertors.

After an overnight rest, the Grundfos visitors were then invited to the nearby BMW museum, where 260 guests took part in a special seminar on Grundfos iSOLUTIONS and GiC cloud control for the Water Utilities sector.

After a welcome by Mikael Geday, Grundfos Group Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, the visitors were told how intelligent connectivity and a complete systems approach that considered not only the pumps, but the controls and other system components, provided the answer to the changing needs of the water industry – driven by the need for increased system integration and effective data management.

Reinvigorated by what they had seen and heard over the two- ay visit, the team of 13 Grundfos Gulf staff and customers returned home to put their new knowledge to good use in improving local amenities.
