Grundfos HCCW training spreads to North of Egypt

Grundfos’ collaboration with Egypt’s Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCCW) continues to grow, with a further training session for the organization’s engineers now completed at Balaqs in the Al Qalyubia Governate of North Egypt – an agricultural area to the north of Cairo.

The third training session carried out with HCCW, the organization responsible for Egypt’s drinking water quality, this was first to take place in Middle Egypt, following earlier sessions in Gharbia and Sharika, on the country’s northern coast.

The event proved very popular, with a total of 60 engineers and service technicians from the Balaqs office attending for an update on the latest developments in pumping technology from world-leading pump manufacturer, Grundfos.

Addressing Egypt’s challenging water supply infrastructure, which is blighted by outdated and inefficient water and wastewater treatment plants, technical experts from Grundfos explained how the latest generation of energy-efficient pumps and advanced Chlorine Dioxide dosing systems could improve water pressure and reliability, whilst killing-off damaging water-borne viruses and bacteria.

Delegates were able to see and discuss at first hand the latest pump designs and applications, including advanced pressure boosters and the latest ‘intelligent’ pumping systems, designed to react automatically to changes in demand and delivery pressure.

Designed as an interactive event, with the HCCW engineers encouraged to feed back questions on product and service issues, the event was supported by representatives from the Grundfos Gulf Service Department, who were on hand throughout to answer questions and provide short training on service issues, as required.

The growing collaboration between Grundfos and HCCW will, it is hoped, help to deliver a more sustainable and effective water delivery and treatment system for Egypt’s more rural areas, where irregular and sub-standard drinking water is a key cause of health issues.
