Grundfos opens branch in Alexandria

As part of a drive to develop its distributor network and expand service facilities across Egypt, leading global pump manufacturer, Grundfos, has opened a new branch in Alexandria, the country’s second largest City – described by the World Bank as one of Egypt’s main engines for economic growth.

The new branch was officially opened on 1st February, with a special customer event designed to showcase the new facility, introduce staff and develop relationships with customers and specifiers across the region.

Ehab Eshak, Generam Manager for Grundfos Egypt, thanked customers for their support to date, which had already led to large contracts for the company’s pumps in major land reclamation and agricultural projects across Egypt and vowed to work closely with new and existing distributors and dealers to maximise demand for Grundfos’ innovative high-performance pump range within the growing construction, commercial and domestic sectors.

Mr Ehab cited recent developments, like Grundfos’ Smart Digital pumps and the latest iSolutions range of intelligent, integrated pump systems, which are delivering ever increasing levels of precision, reliability and low energy operation and are opening up new sales opportunities in both existing and new installations.

Grundfos is already dominant in a number of key markets across Egypt, including Government projects in the sanitation sector, where it enjoys a 60% market share. By expanding and working closely with its distributor network in and around Alexandria, the company will be in a very strong position to take maximum advantage of areas growing economy and inwards investment. Egypt’s first branch outside Cairo, the new Alexandria branch will service the company’s customers in the Delta region and across the North coast. The opening is part of a coordinated expansion plan that is expected to include a further branch in the Suez area and a new integrated service centre to serve customers in upper Egypt.
