Grundfos trains Egypt’s HCCW

The technical training team from Grundfos Egypt has been working with Egypt’s Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCCW) to help address the considerable challenges they are facing in and around the Gharbiya region in the north of the country. 

Faced with a range of financial and operational challenges, including irregular and sub-standard drinking water supply and inefficient water and wastewater treatment  plants, HCCW management approached Grundfos, a world leader in pumped water technology and systems, for help and advice.  

Grundfos responded by sending their top training team to HCCW’s office in Gharbiya, to train the company’s engineers in the latest developments and  innovations in pumping systems and technology and show at first-hand how these could be deployed to improve water pressure and reliability, drinking water quality and waste water management, whilst reducing energy demand, waste and the current high maintenance requirements.

The engineers were taken through a range of the latest developments, including  advanced pressure managers and ‘intelligent’ pumping systems that are able to react automatically to changes in demand and delivery pressure, as well as state-of-  he-art Chlorine Dioxide (CLO2) disinfection dosing systems designed to improve drinking water quality.   

It is hoped that the current collaboration between Grundfosand HCWW will lead to more sustainable water and waste solutions and help to reduce the high level of water quality-related health issues that currently plague the region.
