Minya follows up on 1985 visit

Under the protocol, which was set up to help address the country’s long-standing problems with drinking water quality and very low water tariff’s which limit the finance available to water companies for network upgrading, Grundfos conducts technical training with a different HCWW subsidiary every month.

Scheduled over two days, 7th and 8th August, the training event for Minya DWSD, which is located on the western bank of the Nile in Upper Egypt, focused on advanced water and wastewater treatment technology with emphasis on high efficiency solutions to reduce wastage, deliver a more sustainable water service and reduce energy and maintenance costs.

45 of the company’s top Operations and Projects staff, technical support engineers and managers, took part in the training, which started with a full day on pump basics, before moving on, on day two, to Water Utility solutions, including the Grundfos Islands application.

The event was rounded off with a demonstration of the Grundfos Product Centre – an advanced, easy-to-use, on-line tool that will help Minya personnel to select the right pump size and specification for any new or replacement application, as well as providing them with a 24/7 source of information on Grundfos’ world-leading pump and accessory range.

Feedback from the event was very positive, with delegates requesting further in-depth training in the future on a range of issues related to their day to day operations.

Following the event, Minya’s General Manager thanked the training staff and explained how his relationship with Grundfos began more than thirty years ago, with a visit to Grundfos’ Danish factories. “Cooperation with world leading companies like Grundfos, with a long history of innovation and developing leading edge sustainable solutions for demanding water utility applications,”, he said,” was important to his company’  long-term success.”  He was presented with a souvenir by Grundfos, to mark the occasion.
