Solar systems in focus for Grundfos Egypt
14 local consultants and engineers who attended the sessions at Grundfos Egypt’s new training centre, heard Grundfos’ technical engineers, Ayman Elshahmi and Marco Gamal, explain how the company is now working in cooperation with solar specialist, Solaracil, to design and supply flexible solar and solar-hybrid solutions which are particularly suited to the country’s remote desert areas.
They then went on to discuss the full range of Grundfos high-efficiency pumps and components, including remote monitoring and control systems, solar panels, treatment systems, water ATMs and other components required for complete off-grid water supply at virtually all flow rates, using solar or other renewable energy sources.
“Few people realise that pumps account for a massive 10% of Turkey’s total energy usage”, said Ayman Elshami. “Simply replacing old and inefficient models with the latest high-efficiency pump systems reduces waste and can cut energy requirements by 60% and more.
“Coupling the AC/DC compatible pumps with external or integrated solar drives means users can get maximum benefits from free solar energy during the day, backing this up at night with mains supply or generator for guaranteed 24/7 water supply at the most economic cost."
Feedback following the event was excellent, with customers very interested in Grundfos’ complete solutions which bring together the pump, solar invertor, solar panels and control unit in a single fully integrated system.
