Can the pump be operated using a frequency converter?
Grundfos offers numerous speed-controlled pumps that are referred to as ‘E-pumps’ and which come equipped with Grundfos MGE motors with an integrated frequency converter. The manufacturing costs and material inputs are lower compared to pump solutions with external frequency converters. Can the SP pumps also be operated in a horizontal position?
SP submersible pumps with a Grundfos or other submersible motor can be operated in any position from horizontal to vertical. The motor is arranged below the pump. A cooling jacket is generally required for these installation positions.
Do I have to follow the instructions for Grundfos pumps?
Yes, absolutely. The installation and operating instructions contain basic instructions which must be followed in connection with the installation, operation, and maintenance of the system. Hence, they must be read by the installer and the relevant personnel/owner prior to installation and commissioning. In addition, they must be available to personnel on site at all times.
Does the SQ/SQE have a soft start?
Yes, the pump has an integrated soft start feature in order to reduce start-up current, thus assuring even, continuous acceleration.
