Brookshire, Texas – Nov. 4, 2022Grundfos, a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technologies, today announced the grand opening of its Grundfos US Headquarters located outside of Houston in Brookshire, Texas. This facility houses both the Global Headquarters for Water Utility and Main Office for Grundfos Americas Corporation.

On November 2, the grand opening celebration led by Grundfos Country President USA Ansell Sims and Grundfos Group President & CEO Poul Due Jensen saw a good participation from government officials and community members, including H.E. Christina Markus Lassen, Danish Ambassador, Morten Siem Lynge, Consul General of Denmark, Vince Yokom, Waller County Economic Development Partnership, Amanda Tullos, President of GreenNexus, Betty Russo from the Texas Governor’s Office, Trey Duhon, Waller County Judge and Rachel Valis, President of the West I10 Chamber of Commerce.

It’s very meaningful to open our one-of-a-kind, innovative building with Grundfos leadership from Denmark and all over the world as well as prominent community members, customers and partners,” said Ansell Sims, Country President, Grundfos USA.

“With the opening of the Global Headquarters for Water Utility in the U.S., Grundfos is establishing this growing division in the largest municipal water market in the U.S. What we create here in the U.S. will help solve the world’s water and climate challenges,” said HP Nanda, CEO Water Utility Division at Grundfos. “The new building is a one-of-a-kind, sustainable building that serves as a central meeting place for the global Grundfos team, customers, partners, and business leaders from around the world who are exploring ways to improve their sustainability efforts.”

About the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified v4 Platinum building

The new 48,670 sq. ft building was designed based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals #6 on water and #13 on climate in alignment with Grundfos’ goals to lower carbon emissions and minimize waste. In 2022, it was LEED certified v4 Platinum and is the first in Texas to receive this certification.

The building is fully electric, uses no fossil fuels, and instead relies on solar energy, natural light, and energy-efficient equipment. Also, less than 13% of the water usage is sourced from the local municipal system. Nearly a million gallons of water are collected annually from rainwater and the hydronic HVAC system.

“Our new building is representative of our values and that is reflected in the attention we took to utilize our own technologies to minimize our water and energy usage. We support SDGs 6 and 13 because we believe that we can actually make a difference in making water a global priority and taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. The Grundfos LEED-certified building is inspiring other business leaders who are planning new construction or retrofitting existing buildings to meet environmental standards. We’ve proven that sustainable operations and construction are good for business,” adds Ansell Sims.
