Constant pressure AUTOADAPT (ALPHA)

Introducing the ALPHA pump’s constant pressure AUTOADAPT control mode for heating applications. You’ll gain a workable knowledge of what it is, why it is important in zone valve systems and how it compares to traditional circulators.

In this module, we will introduce the ALPHA pump’s constant pressure AUTOADAPT control mode for heating applications. You’ll gain a workable knowledge of what it is, why it is important in zone valve systems and how it compares to traditional circulators.

First, let’s explore what constant pressure AUTOADAPT is.

ALPHA pumps offer three AUTOADAPT settings:

Proportional pressure AUTOADAPT
Constant pressure AUTOADAPT
..and constant curve AUTOADAPT.

AUTOADAPT is an intelligent technology that allows pumps to adjust to external factors, such as changes in... consumption patterns and system load. It constantly analyzes the system it is part of and determines the right setpoint based on the information gathered.

This ensures optimal comfort at the lowest possible cost at all times.

AUTOADAPT is the optimal setting for your customers. All you need to do is install the circulator and let the advanced technologies take care of the rest.

The constant pressure AUTOADAPT feature automatically adjusts the pump speed downwards or upwards to maintain the required performance.

Constant pressure AUTOADAPT is best suited to zone valve system applications and floor heating systems that use actuators.

Now let’s compare traditional circulators to ALPHA pumps with constant pressure AUTOADAPT.

In a zone valve system, the valve for each zone will open and close when zones call for heat. With a traditional circulator, each time one of the valves close, the flow and pressure in the other zones increases significantly. This makes the pump inefficient as it consumes too much electricity, meaning higher energy bills for the home owner. With an ALPHA pump, when a valve in the system closes its zone, the pump will reduce speed in order to maintain a constant pressure in the other open zones, resulting in a stable flow rate regardless of the condition of the valves.

At the same time, the pump will monitor the system load over time and adjust its set point up or down to meet the system demand. This creates a stable system that consumes an optimal amount of energy and provides lower costs for your customers.

That covers our introduction to constant pressure AUTOADAPT.
